Hailing from Kumamoto and now based in Tokyo, BLUE ENCOUNT is a four-piece, emotional rock band that has been creating buzz with their intense, in-your-face, hot-blooded performances.
They made their major debut in September 2014 with EP TIMELESS ROOKIE. Their first single “Motto Hikari wo,” released January 2015, played heavily on 35 radio stations nationwide, an extraordinary achievement for an up-and-coming band. In May the same year, they released their single “DAY x DAY,” which became the opening theme of the popular anime series Gintama (Season 3). This was followed by their first full-length album titled, ≒ (Nearly Equal).
2016 saw the release of four singles, namely “Hajimari” in January, which became the fight song for the 94th All Japan High School Soccer Tournament, “Survivor,” the opening theme song of MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS, “Daijobu,” dedicated to all BLUE ENCOUNT fans, and “LAST HERO,” the theme song of the drama THE LAST COP. The releases were followed by a single-bill show in October that year at the Budokan titled LIVER’S BUDOKAN.
Their much-anticipated third album, VECTOR, was released March 2018. It ranked #6 on Oricon’s weekly chart. Later that year in November, they released “FREEDOM,” which was selected as the opening theme of the second season of the TV anime series BANANA FISH.
2019 marked their 5th major debut anniversary and their 15th anniversary as a band! They released a mini album, SICK(S), to help promote their BLUE ENCOUNT TOUR 2019 apartment of SICK(S).
On November 20, they released “Polaris”, the opening theme song for TV anime series “MY HERO ACADEMIA”.
They never fail to connect with their audience because they give their all in every performance, and dedicate themselves to delivering simple but passionate messages with a stubborn honesty in their music.
