Yasuhiro Irie

Yasuhiro Irie is an animation director, director and board representative for the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA). After graduating from high school in Yamaguchi Prefecture, he moved to Tokyo to join Nakamura Productions. As an animation director, he’s worked on “The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird” (1991~2), “Future GPX Cyber Formula” (1991), “Mobile Fighter G Gundam” (1994~5), “The Vision of Escaflowne” (1996), “Mobile Suit Gundam: The 8th MS Team” (1996~9), “Cowboy Bebop” (1998), “Spriggan” (1998), “Tekkonkinkreet” (2006) and many more. As a director, he is perhaps best known for his work on “Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood” (OVA and TV), with other notable work on such titles as “Alien 9” (2001~2, ep2~4), “KURAU Phantom Memory” (2004), “Full Metal Alchemist” (2009~10), “CØDE:BREAKER” (2012), and “Scorching Ping Pong Girls” (2016).

Yasuhiro Irie, known as the FMA Brotherhood director, is seeking 10 models for his live drawing panel on Saturday, 4/15/17 in the 6C Panels room from 11am to 1 pm. The models would be drawn and animated in a 30 second animated clip for anime production demonstration purposes only. Irie-san will animate the models with the original characters from his latest Kickstarter project “Halloween Pajama”, so don’t miss out this exclusive rare opportunity to be animated.
