The yes-it’s-true-born-and-raised-in-Los-Angeles-because-someone-had-to-be Rachel Robinson’s voice spans the arenas of video games, animation, national commercials, promos and now, most recently, anime.
She is likely best known for her role as Oerba Yun Fang, of Final Fantasy XIII, reprising it in Final Fantasy XIII-2 and for the third and last time in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy. Despite popular opinion she is in fact not Australian; but is happy she was able to convince people otherwise. She plays Nova in the just-released There Came an Echo, an already well-received voice-controlled strategy game starring Wil Wheaton. She will be also voicing Vorazun, in the much anticipated StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.
Other new game roles include the Patroller in DBZ: Xenoverse; Dread Queen Serqet and Medusa in Smite, and coming soon; The President in Bombshell. Additional noted roles (including but not limited to): Argonian Guildmaster Sees-All-Colors and Hagraven – The Elder Scrolls Online, Charr Rox Whetstone + ancillaries – Guild Wars 2, Celsius – Tales of Xillia (1 and 2), Holly Whyte – Bravely Default, Commander Nowak – Q.U.B.E.: Director’s Cut, Female Veteran – Defiance, Sara Sidle – CSI: Fatal Conspiracy, and currently about 12 roles in Firefall that range in dialect and volume from Texan to Australian to Irish to Mid-Atlantic to Ukranian and tons in between. The different personalities in her love that. Shut up! They do not!
In anime, she was just announced as Haruka in The Rolling Girls and Commander in Nobunagun; and continues on her known villainous path, voicing Cameran in Sailor Moon (Viz) and Misako in Psycho Pass II. She’s barked as the tattooed, chainsmoking and fun-loving Nazi vampire, Zorin Blitz, in Hellsing Ultimate; cajoled as Empress Megaria in Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters; and kiah’d as violet-haired and short tempered warrior/schoolgirl Uncho Kan’u in Ikki Tousen. Other warblings include Queen Elizabeth II – Hetalia: The Beautiful World; nun-with-an-agenda Lidvia Lorenzetti – A Certain Magical Index II, Yuki Mizushima – The Devil is a Part Timer!, various roles in both Attack on Titan and Space Dandy, and currently nine (and counting) other projects that are still, maddeningly, under wraps.
Arbitrary oddity presents a claymated Pamela Anderson and Verne Troyer in Celebrity Death Match, 2 bitchy girls in American Dad!, Vera Cortez in the online comic companion piece to Dead Space, and Mary; Mother of Jesus, in That Darn Jesus in Universal Remote; as well as many other auxiliary hither-and-yon characters. She also writes, sings, and paints. Portraits or walls. She has a BFA from Syracuse University in Film/Art with concentration in writing, is a classically trained pianist, an excellent driver and knows the military alphabet.
She is thrilled to be attending her first SakuraCon, and looks forward to meeting everyone and visiting Seattle for the first time in over 10 years.
