If you’d like to participate in our section of the Chinatown Seafair Parade (aka the Cosplay parade!) please follow these instructions:

Date: July 24th, 6:00-6:30pm line up. Objective: To show Seattle what Sakura-Con cosplay is all about!!

1. Plan a family friendly cosplay, BRING WATER and wear sunscreen. It’s likely to be hot, so plan ahead!

2. Meet up at approximately King street and 8th avenue. *We don’t know our exact placement until check in-usually we are in section “C”. * You may have to ask where Sakura-Con’s section is and look for us. We will have volunteers in the area-look for the cosplayers! Be there no later than 6:00 pm or parade officials might not allow you to participate.

3. Again, please BRING WATER and remember to prepare for sun and heat. The parade organizers do not provide shade, chairs or water. Please take care of yourself!

Participate in our annual cosplay contest at Dragon Fest (July 16-17 2016), and you’ll have a chance to win memberships to Sakura-Con 2017!

Japan Fair is continuing the legacy of Aki Matsuri this Fall! Japan Fair is currently seeking volunteers and vendors for their market place. Please visit www.japanfairus.org for full details!

This year we will be electing the following positions at the Staff-only elections meeting:

• Sakura-Con Vice-Chair
• Sakura-Con Treasurer
• Sakura-Con Director of Membership
• Sakura-Con Director of Programming
• Sakura-Con Director of Operations

Please see Sakura-Con 2017 Staff Elections for lists of the current candidates with their running status, introductions (if they choose to provide one), and contact information if you are unable to attend the election meeting and would like to ask the candidates questions prior to sending your absentee vote. Staff voting details will be in the Staff section shortly.

Attention all Artists! We are extending the Mascot Contest deadline to April 10th.

Why? Because we don’t have as many Mascots as we need to have a proper contest, in fact, submissions are at about 1/3 of what we normally have before the convention.
