Having spent decades lending his voice to the likes of Dr. STONE, Fullmetal Alchemist, Blue Lock, Dragon Ball, RWBY, and Kaiju No. 8, Aaron Dismuke has finally decided to give up on his childhood dream of becoming a professional ice cream taste tester. The dairy doesn’t break down like it used to.
Much like Roman Emperor Augustus Caesar, Dismuke got a nepotistically precocious start to his career but proved able enough to “hang in there.” The ancient Roman statesman and Dismuke’s shared love for performative emotional outbursts was instrumental in the latter’s going on to voice hundreds of characters in countless anime, video games, and the occasional western animation in the 19 years that followed his first booked role in Fruits Basket, which he was cast in at the tender age of 9, on account of his being the only literate, pre-adolescent male that anyone at Funimation knew back then.
Dismuke moonlights as an assistant director (Solo Leveling, Fairy Tail, Frieren) and adaptive writer (Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Fire Force). For fun, he writes comics, designs board games, explores ruins, gardens weeds (not weed), reads classical history, and raves that specialization is the death of joy.
As an actor, he strives to quickly soak up information and convert it into clean reads with clear motivations—spiced with snark as needed.
