Inu-Oh
Directed by Masaaki Yuasa and produced by Science SARU, Inu-Oh is a historical musical anime film. Based on the novel Tales of the Heike: Inu-Oh by Hideo Furukawa, the film is set in 14th century Japan. It premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and has received widespread acclaim at various global film festivals.
Synopsis
Born into a prestigious family, Inu-oh is cursed and cast to the margins of society. When he meets Tomona, a blind biwa musician haunted by his past, Inu-oh discovers his incredible ability to dance. The two quickly form an inseparable bond, and their electrifying performances draw crowds. However, when those in power threaten to tear them apart, Inu-oh and Tomona must use their music and dance to uncover the truth behind their creative gifts.
