Questions for Erin

Question

Does an SOP of sorts exist for your position, which is to say, without an assistant, have you had the time and been able to lay out the various tasks you perform yearly for the Organization, as well as including the steps in general that would allow someone to take over, should something happen to where you were unable to perform your duties as Secretary?

Related: Would you be open to the idea of someone, such as Ashley, working underneath you, training to be able to fulfill those duties, as well as possibly one day moving into that role should you one day tire of it, or decide it no longer fits your scheduling?

Response

Thank you for your questions!

When I became sick about a year ago, I took a few days to consider and write down everything I do for the convention. The very last thing I wanted was for my health to affect the convention! Now that we have Google Accounts for Non-Profits, all of those notes have been uploaded to the secretary’s account. If I land in the hospital, that account can have its password reset and reassigned to whomever is elected to become secretary, and they will have access to all of my documentaton.

Yes indeed! It would be wonderful to welcome another voice to our team. I actually already planned to ask someone to assist me this year. 🙂

Thank you again for contacting me, and really very much thank you for all your help during the convention!
