Ryukishi first appeared in the anime industry when he founded the doujinshi software circle, 07th Expansion, with the help of his brothers. He and his circle debuted with “Higurashi When They Cry,” a title which has grown to see several anime, manga, and live-action adaptations, fighting game spin-offs, and more! As the scenario writer, illustrator, and leader for 07th Expansion, Ryukishi has gone on to create and produce several equally famous titles such as “Umineko When They Cry,” “Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni,” and “Rose Guns Days.”

In addition to his works with 07th Expansion, Ryukishi’s talents as a scenario writer led him to work alongside the manga-duo Peach Peach Pit (in “Ookami Kakushi”) and Inoue Itaru (in Key’s popular visual novel and anime, “Rewrite”).

Currently, both the “Higurashi When They Cry” and “Umineko When They Cry” game series are available in English on Steam and MangaGamer, thanks to the dedicated localization team at MangaGamer.
