Yasuhiro Nightow's original science fiction cyber Western comic and TV animation was widely introduced overseas, and has gained popularity internationally, and is particularly popular in the United States.

STORY

In Makkah, a town surrounded by quicksand, there are rumors about a legendary big Gasback robbery gang. The mayor, Kepler, is assembling ruffians to protect the town. There is a reward for the Gasback gang, which brings in bounty hunter after bounty hunter. Merrill and Milly visit the town for an insurance assessment, and they are appalled by the situation. Moreover, they see in their line of sight the form of Vash the Stampede. Merrill, in awe and feeling the tragedy of destruction, plans to somehow chase Vash out of town. However, Vash, as usual, is nonchalantly making passes at a female bounty hunter Amelia.I n the middle of this all, the Gasback gang suddenly appears back in town. And in the confusion, is that Wolf Wood...‽

Amid all the various expectations and complications, here opens the first act...

2010 Feature Musical Guest: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR Sakura-Con is pleased to present 2010's Feature musical guests: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR
Formed in Okinawa, Japanese rock band HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR has contributed theme songs for three hit anime series: "Bleach," "Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny: Special Edition," and "Darker Than Black." The band has also contributed film songs for "Death Note: The Last Name (tribute album)" and "Anata wo Wasurenai." In 2009, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR (also known to their Japanese fans as "Haikara") returned to their original label Spice Records and released a new album "Swamp Man" featuring a new vocalist HALCA. Their appearance at Sakura-Con 2010 will mark their first overseas performance with their new lineup.

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR appears by arrangement with Spice Records and JapanFiles.


2010 First Musical Guest: Dazzle Vision

Dazzle Vision Sakura-Con is pleased to present 2010's first musical guests: Dazzle Vision.

Popular in the Japanese indie scene for their hard rock sound and Maiko's alternating melodic/death-voice vocals, Dazzle Vision was formed in June 2003, and has held their current lineup since May 2008.

Dazzle Vision released their first album "Origin of Dazzle" in November of 2006. Their second album "Camellia Japonica" was released in April 2007, followed by an 11-city tour of Japan. After selling out of the first presses of "Origin of Dazzle" and "Camellia Japonica," their 3rd album "Crystal Children" hit #1 on HMV's pre-sale chart and #2 on Tower Records pre-sale chart prior to its official release in November 2008.

Dazzle Vision's appearance at Sakura-Con will mark their first live performance in North America.


Sakura-Con Guest of Honor List is Over 9,000!

Ryo Horikawa

ANCEA is pleased to announce Ryo Horikawa as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Mr. Horikawa started out as a child actor when he was in elementary school. He made his debut in voice acting as the protagonist of the 1984 anime Yume Senshi Wingman. He is a prolific voice actor with credits in many video games, anime, and cd's. He is perhaps best known to American fans for his anime character roles as Andromeda Shun (Saint Seiya), Heiji Hattori (Harley Hartwell), Detective Conan (Case Closed), Reinhard (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) and Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z).

Mayumi Tanaka, the seiyuu for Luffy from One Piece, presents a voice acting demonstration and mini-concert featuring Team Dream Catchers, Katsuhiro Namba, Run Sasaki, and juggling performances by Tanaka's son Kosuke.

This panel and contest is brought to you by Ronald Mar, who has put together an in-depth, 50-question quiz covering a broad spectrum of subjects, from calculus to architecture, art to history, astronomy to music. It will force you to think about anime you've seen in a whole new light, and hopefully give a deeper appreciation for some of the construction that goes into anime. Prizes will be given at the Sunday panel. Rules are included in the zip file.

Imagawa-san regretfully has to cancel his appearance at Sakura-Con because of a new project he will be working on. He is very disappointed and offers his apologies. He hopes to come to Sakura-Con another time.


2010 Guest of Honor: Noizi Ito

Noizi Ito Noizi Ito is an artist well known for her work as the character designer and artist for the Shakugan no Syana novel series which spawned a manga and anime series. She is the original character designer for all of the The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya franchise which includes the manga, the smash hit anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya as well as the newest movie. Ms. Ito recently started a manga series called Bee-be-beat it! which was introduced in volume 1 of the Dragon Age Pure magazine. She has also worked on several adult projects for UNiSONSHIFT. Outside of UNiSONSHIFT, Noizi Ito is the illustrator for Flight-Plan's DS game Shining Force Feather. This is Ms. Ito's first Sakura-Con and first appearance in the United States.


2010 Guest of Honor: Takahiro Yoshimatsu

ANCEA is pleased to announce Takahiro Yoshimatsu as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Takahiro Yoshimatsu is an animator with numerous character design and animation credits to his name. He's worked on many titles, including Future GPX Cyber Formula, Slayers the Movie,TRIGUN, Jubei-chan, Muryou Gakuen Senki, Ninja Scroll, Full Metal Alchemist Chibi Party, Panyo Panyo Digi Carat, and Digi Carat, the Super Milk Chan Show and many more. Mr. Yoshimatsu is also famous as a manga author named "Something Yoshimatu", known for "Sega no Game wa Sekai Ichio". Mr. Yoshimatsu's lastest work is the movie Trigun Badlands Rumble in which he is the Character Designer. Trigun Badlands Rumble will have its world premiere at Sakura-Con 2010.


2010 Guest of Honor: Satoshi Nishimura

ANCEA is pleased to announce Satoshi Nishimura as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Satoshi Nishimura worked for years as an animator on numerous anime titles providing key animation and story board work. Some popular series he did such work on include Alien Nine, Card Captor Sakura, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Paradise Kiss, Revolutionary Girl Utena and more. Later, Mr. Nishimura became a Director with several equally notable titles to his credit, including Trigun TV, and Hajime no Ippo. Mr. Nishimura's latest title is Trigun Badlands Rumble-the much anticipated Trigun Movie which will have its world premiere at Sakura-Con 2010.


2010 Guest of Honor: Mayumi Tanaka

Mayumi Tanaka is a prolific and accomplished seiyu. She is best known for the roles of Ryuunosuke Fujinami in Urusei Yatsura, Pazu in Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece and Krillin in Dragon Ball but her total anime and non credits are very extensive. Ms. Tanaka has appeared in well over 150 roles, many in such notable series as Chrono Trigger, Rurouni Kenshin and Kimba the White Lion. Ms. Tanaka is a fan favorite as Kanna in Sakura Wars as well as the singer of the theme song for the franchise. This is Mayumi Tanaka's first Sakura-Con and first West Coast convention appearance.

2010 Guest of Honor: Tsuyoshi Nonaka

Tsuyoshi Nonaka

Tsuyoshi Nonaka is a Mechanical designer known for his work on D.I.C.E. (TV) and Shin Mazinger Shogeki! Z-Hen.

Nonaka is looking forward to discussing Japanese toys with American fans as designing such toys has been a major part of his career as an artist.

Nonaka participated in Transformers while he was in Tokyo Design School. After his graduation on 1987, he joined Bandai to participate in development of toys for boys under Katsushi Murakami.

Later he participated in development of many "Chogokin" figurines; Metal Hero Series from "Kidou Keiji Jiban" (DT: "Mobile Investigator Jiban"), "Tetsuwan Tantei Robotakku" (DT: "Iron Detective Robottaku"), Super Sentai series after "Kyoryu Sentai Jyurenjya" (DT: "Dino Warrior Ju-ranger"), Ultra series after "Ultraman Tiga", "Kamen Rider Series from "Kamen Rider Kuuga" to "Kamen Rider Kabuto," and Machine robo series after "Syutugeki! Machine Robo Rescue."

From 2001, he was temporarily transferred to Plex to work as dual employee between Bandai and Plex, which now he is renowned for first developer of Cyogokin-damashii. He also worked on Ranger Strike illustrations.

This will be Nonaka-San's first Sakura-Con.

Joins us for the second Sakura-Con Blood drive. Reservations can be made at the Puget Sound Blood Center website.

For you dedicated donors who give every couple months, please make your last donation prior to Sakura-Con by Saturday, 2/6. Any donation following 2/6 will render you ineligible to give at the Sakura-Con Blood Drive on Saturday, 4/3.
